When it’s time to let daughter go and live by herself…

Separation Anxiety.

Yup, that’s what it is.

And daughter hasn’t even left the house yet.

Daughter is in 2nd year of college now, and has survived the brutal world of commute (in Manila, this is no understatement) during her 1st year.

She had wanted to live nearer school last year, but I sagely told her that she has to go through the unforgettable experience one can get when commuting to and from school.  I think most of us had gone through the experience, and I am sure you will agree that it gave you a wealth of experiences that are now priceless.  “Magdusa ka muna.” (“Suffer first”.)

However, with the horrendous traffic nowadays, plus her super early 1st class and super late dismissal, I’ve decided:  It’s time.

Dorm-ing will teach her a new set of life-long learnings, as well, like how to live, eat, fend for herself; get along, nay, make that LIVE with other people (being an only child, I think she will learn a lot from this); budget her allowance for the week.

A lot to get used to, not only on her end, but from mine, too.  And to think I am the supreme worry wart in the family. How to stop being paranoid? I think that is a different story for another blog post.

So, let’s see how this all works out.
